VLR Software LLC ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information through our mobile application, ICD 10 2027 (the "App"), and our website, vlrsoftware.com. The limited TelemetryDeck analytics described below applies to app versions in which analytics is enabled; it is not enabled in every version.

1. Information We Collect

To provide a professional medical coding experience and maintain the App, we collect the following types of information:

Identifiers: We collect the Apple Advertising Identifier (IDFA) only if you grant permission via the iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. Separately, TelemetryDeck uses an anonymous app-installation identifier and standard app and device metadata, such as app version, device type, and operating-system version, for analytics. This identifier is not the IDFA and does not depend on advertising tracking permission.

Usage Data: We collect information on how you interact with the App, including app launches, aggregate lookup frequency, optional recommendation interactions, and interactions with Google AdMob banner ads.

Limited Conversion Analytics: When enabled, TelemetryDeck receives fixed event categories, such as lookup-only sessions, interest in Premium features, subscription-screen views and dismissals, purchase outcomes, and fixed-category feedback if the optional question is enabled. We also measure when an optional recommendation for our separate ICD-10-CM Coding Assistant app is eligible, viewed, tapped, or dismissed, including its placement in Search, Favorites, or Help. We do not send TelemetryDeck search terms, ICD-10 codes, favorites, folder names, personal notes, clinical notes, or patient information.

Purchase History: To manage your professional subscriptions, we process transaction data via Apple’s StoreKit. We do not have access to your credit card or direct payment details; these are handled securely by Apple.

Coarse Location: We may use your IP address to determine your general region to provide localized medical resources and relevant ad content.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data for the following professional purposes:

App Functionality: To manage your favorites, custom folders, and subscription access.

Database Maintenance: To maintain the App's reference databases.

Personalized Experience: If you opt-in to tracking, we use your data to show you relevant medical tools and professional resources instead of generic advertisements.

Analytics: To monitor app performance, identify bugs, improve the App, and understand use of free features and subscription options. TelemetryDeck events are used for product analytics, not to track you across other companies' apps or websites or to determine your subscription entitlement.

Our App Recommendations: We use these limited interaction events to evaluate our own in-app recommendation. The optional recommendation opens a separate app with its own free limits and subscription; this App's subscription does not grant access to it.

3. Advertising and Tracking

The App uses Google AdMob to serve banner advertisements.

Consent-Based Tracking: We only use your IDFA for tracking purposes if you select "Allow" on the iOS system prompt.

Opt-Out: You can change your tracking preferences at any time by going to your iOS device Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

AdMob Privacy: Google may use the data collected to personalize ads. You can view Google’s privacy practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Providers

We do not sell your personal information. We only share data with trusted service providers necessary for app operation:

Apple Inc.: For subscription processing and crash diagnostics.

Google AdMob: For ad delivery and performance measurement.

TelemetryDeck: For the limited app analytics described above, when enabled. See TelemetryDeck's Privacy Policy. TelemetryDeck analytics is separate from AdMob advertising.

5. Data Retention and Security

We retain your usage data only as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the professional purposes outlined in this policy. We implement industry-standard security measures (including encryption and Apple’s secure sandbox environment) to protect your data from unauthorized access.

The App keeps fixed daily conversion-event counts on your device for up to 35 days. TelemetryDeck and other providers retain information according to their own policies and operating practices. Favorites, folders, and personal notes remain in the App's data store and, where available and enabled, your Apple iCloud/CloudKit account; they are not sent to TelemetryDeck.

6. Children's Privacy

Our App is a professional medical tool and is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR in Europe, CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. You may exercise these rights by contacting us at the email address below.
