Privacy Policy

Last Updated: February 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how VLR Software ("we," "us," or "our") handles data in the ICD-10-CM 2026 Professional Edition mobile application (the "App").

1. Data Collection & Third-Party Partners

To provide our services and support the continued development of this App, we work with third-party partners who may collect information directly from the App.

A. Google AdMob (Advertising)

We use the Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) SDK to serve native advertisements. By using this App, you acknowledge that Google may collect and use the following data types for advertising and analytics purposes:

  • Location: Coarse location (e.g., IP address) used to serve relevant localized ads.
  • Identifiers: Device identifiers such as your Advertising Identifier (IDFA) or other device-level IDs.
  • Usage Data: Information regarding your interactions with the App, such as app launches and ad engagement.
  • Diagnostics: Information related to the performance of the SDK, including crash logs and energy usage. For more information on how Google manages this data, please visit the Google Privacy & Terms.

B. iCloud Synchronization (Premium Feature)

If you enable iCloud Sync, the App uses Apple's CloudKit technology to synchronize your "Favorites" and custom folders across your devices.

  • What is Synced: Only alphanumeric ICD-10-CM codes and the titles of the folders you create.
  • Encryption: Data is encrypted by Apple during transit and at rest within your private iCloud container. We cannot access this data.

2. Your Privacy Choices

  • Ad Personalization: You can limit ad tracking or reset your Advertising Identifier through your iOS device settings.
  • iCloud Control: You can disable iCloud synchronization at any time in your device's System Settings.

3. Offline Usage

The ICD-10-CM 2026 database is stored locally on your device for 100% offline access. Aside from third-party advertising data described above, we do not track your specific search queries or clinical code lookups.

4. HIPAA Compliance

While we prioritize data security, this App is not a "Covered Entity" as defined by HIPAA. This App is not HIPAA compliant for storing patient-identifiable data.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Updates will be posted on this page.
