OB Datum Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how VLR Software LLC ("VLR Software," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use OB Datum: Pregnancy Dating (the "App").

Privacy at a glance

OB Datum is designed to perform pregnancy-dating calculations on your device.

We do not operate a user account system or an OB Datum server.
We do not collect pregnancy dates, menstrual information, saved cases, calendar data, or Health data.
We do not include advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, or data-broker integrations.
Saved cases remain on the device where you create them and are excluded from iCloud and device backups.

Information processed on your device

The App processes dates and other calculation inputs you choose to enter, including last menstrual period, cycle length, conception or ovulation date, established estimated due date, gestational age, ultrasound date, embryo-transfer date, and embryo age. This information is used on your device to calculate and compare estimated pregnancy dates.

If you choose Save case, the App stores an anonymous calculation record locally. A saved record can include the calculation source, estimated due date, calculation basis, creation date, and calculation-engine version. OB Datum does not provide fields for patient names, record numbers, contact details, or clinical notes. Saved cases are protected by iOS file protection, do not synchronize through iCloud, and are excluded from iCloud and device backups. They therefore will not automatically transfer to or be restored on a replacement device. You can delete individual cases in the App. Deleting the App also deletes its local data, subject to the normal operation of iOS.

HealthKit

OB Datum can optionally read the most recently recorded menstrual-flow sample that is explicitly marked as a menstrual cycle start in Apple Health. The App requests read permission only after you choose to import a period start. It does not write to HealthKit, continuously monitor Health data, or send Health data to VLR Software.

An imported date is used as an input in the current calculation. It is not retained unless you separately choose to save the resulting anonymous case locally. You can review or revoke Health access through Apple Health or iOS Settings.

iCloud preferences

If iCloud is available, OB Datum uses Apple's iCloud key-value storage only to synchronize two non-health preferences: whether haptics are enabled and which descriptive timeline milestones are selected. Pregnancy dates, calculation inputs, results, and saved cases are not synchronized through iCloud. VLR Software does not operate or access the iCloud container; Apple's handling of iCloud is governed by Apple's privacy policy and terms.

Calendar export

When you choose to add an estimated due date to Calendar, OB Datum presents Apple's event editor with a proposed all-day event. You review, edit, and confirm the event before it is saved. The proposed event contains the estimated due date and generic OB Datum explanatory text; it does not contain a patient identifier. The App does not upload calendar information to VLR Software.

Purchases

Lifetime Pro is a non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. VLR Software does not receive your payment-card or bank-account details. The App uses Apple's StoreKit services to retrieve product information and verify the purchase entitlement. Apple's collection and use of App Store information is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Support and feedback

Support, feedback, and issue-report buttons open your email application with a draft addressed to support@vlrsoftware.com. No message is sent unless you choose to send it. The draft includes the App version, build number, iOS version, device class, and selected App language to help us troubleshoot. It asks you not to include patient names, record numbers, contact information, clinical notes, or other identifying health information.

If you contact us, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you choose to provide. We use that information to respond, troubleshoot, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell it or use it for advertising. We retain support communications only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes, then delete or de-identify them when appropriate.

External links

The App may open fixed links to official clinical-methodology publishers, Apple services, or VLR Software webpages. Once you leave the App, the destination's privacy policy governs its collection and use of information. OB Datum does not embed advertising or behavioral-tracking web views.

Children's privacy

OB Datum is a professional medical-reference and calculation tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App.

Security and retention

On-device data is protected using iOS security controls, including complete file protection for the saved-case directory. No security method can guarantee absolute protection. Because VLR Software does not receive the App's pregnancy data or saved cases, we cannot retrieve, restore, export, or delete that on-device information for you.

Your choices

You can decline or revoke Health access; cancel a Calendar event before it is saved or later delete it in Calendar; delete saved cases in the App; disable iCloud for the App or change synchronized preferences; and choose whether to send a support email and what it contains.

For information you voluntarily provide directly to VLR Software, you may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable law provides those rights.

International use

If you contact VLR Software from outside the United States, your support communication may be processed in the United States or another location where our service providers operate, subject to applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, law, or our practices. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when reasonably appropriate.
