Crownspell Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 21, 2026

Crownspell is provided by VLR Software LLC. This policy explains how Crownspell handles information when you use the app on iPhone or iPad.

Summary

Crownspell does not require a Crownspell account. Core gameplay, discovered words, favorites, settings, and progress are stored on your device. Crownspell uses Google Mobile Ads to support the free version, Apple StoreKit for Crownspell Plus, optional Apple Game Center features, and optional local notifications.

Information stored on your device

Crownspell stores the following locally:

  • Game settings, selected languages, sound and haptic preferences
  • Daily, Quick, and Custom game progress
  • Scores, streak information, discovered words, and favorites
  • Daily-reminder preference and time
  • The StoreKit entitlement indicating whether Crownspell Plus is active

This information is not uploaded to a VLR Software account or server. You can remove local gameplay information through available in-app controls or by deleting the app. Deleting the app may permanently remove information that has not been handled separately by an Apple service.

Advertising and consent

The free version uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to show interstitial and optional rewarded advertisements. Google states that its SDK may collect or process information including:

  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Device identifiers
  • Advertising data, such as ads shown
  • Product interactions, such as app launches, taps, and video views
  • Crash, performance, and other diagnostic data

Google may use this information for advertising, advertising measurement, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and service operation. Some information may be linked to a device or identity, and Google's SDK privacy manifest declares that Device ID may be used for tracking.

Crownspell uses Google's User Messaging Platform to request consent where required and to provide Privacy Choices when required. Crownspell does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission, disables publisher-provided ad personalization, disables publisher first-party identifiers, and requests advertisements with Google's G maximum content rating. These settings do not eliminate all information collected by Google or replace the choices and disclosures presented by Google.

You may revisit available consent choices from Settings → Privacy Choices when that option is required in your region. Crownspell does not send entered letters, found words, scores, Word Vault contents, favorites, or reminder settings to Google intentionally.

Apple Game Center

Game Center is optional and is operated by Apple. If you connect, Crownspell submits completed Daily Challenge scores to the matching English, Spanish, or bilingual leaderboard and may report achievement progress. Crownspell does not receive your Apple Account password or create a separate social profile. Quick and Custom Game scores are not submitted.

Apple handles Game Center information according to Apple's privacy policy and service terms.

Purchases

Crownspell Plus is a non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple through StoreKit. VLR Software does not receive your full payment-card information. Crownspell reads Apple-verified entitlement information to unlock Plus features, remove advertising, and support purchase restoration and Family Sharing when available.

Notifications

If you enable the Daily reminder, Crownspell asks iOS for notification permission and schedules one local notification on your device at your chosen time. Crownspell does not use a remote-notification server and does not upload the reminder time to VLR Software.

Information Crownspell does not request

Crownspell does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, photos, health information, or precise location. It has no proprietary account, chat, or user-generated-content service and includes no VLR Software analytics service.

Children and families

Crownspell is a general-audience, family-friendly word game. It is not directed exclusively to children and is not submitted to Apple's Kids Category. Advertising requests are limited to Google's G content rating. Parents and guardians should supervise purchases, advertising choices, and Game Center use as appropriate for their family.

If you believe a child has provided information improperly through a third-party service used by Crownspell, contact us so we can help identify the appropriate service and request path.

Retention and third parties

Local Crownspell information remains on the device until removed through app controls, app deletion, or operating-system storage management. Apple and Google determine their own retention, security, and deletion practices for information processed through their services. Review their policies and account/privacy controls for details.

International processing

Apple and Google may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Their privacy policies describe applicable safeguards. Crownspell presents consent and privacy-choice interfaces where required through Google User Messaging Platform.

Your choices

Depending on your device, region, and service availability, you may:

  • Decline or revise advertising consent through the presented privacy interface
  • Purchase Crownspell Plus to remove advertising
  • Disconnect from or manage Game Center through Apple settings
  • Disable notifications or change notification permission in iOS Settings
  • Remove favorites or other local information using available Crownspell controls
  • Delete Crownspell to remove its locally stored information

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Crownspell's features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected in the published policy and, where appropriate, in the app or App Store information.
