Crownspell Terms of Use

These Terms apply to Crownspell, provided by VLR Software LLC. By downloading or using Crownspell, you agree to these Terms and to Apple's applicable App Store terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The service

Crownspell is a word game for learning and entertainment. It provides Daily, Quick, and Custom word-building rounds, local progress, a Word Vault, optional Apple Game Center features, optional reminders, advertising in the free version, and a one-time Crownspell Plus purchase.

Crownspell does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or assess memory loss, cognitive decline, dementia, or any medical condition. References to attention, spelling, word recall, vocabulary search, or flexible thinking describe skills used during gameplay and are not promises of health or educational outcomes.

Acceptable use

You may use Crownspell for personal, non-commercial entertainment in accordance with these Terms and Apple's license terms. You may not reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it, interfere with its services, manipulate leaderboards, bypass purchase or advertising controls, or use the app unlawfully.

Dictionaries and gameplay

Crownspell uses licensed English and Spanish word-list sources and editorial filters. No dictionary is perfectly complete or universally authoritative. A word's inclusion or exclusion may vary by region, spelling convention, inflection, register, or source. Crownspell does not guarantee that every possible valid word will be accepted or that every accepted word is appropriate in every context.

Scores, difficulty, streaks, achievements, rankings, and missed-word counts are gameplay features. They have no cash value and do not award money or prizes.

Advertising

The free version may display interstitial advertisements after eligible completed rounds and optional rewarded advertisements chosen by the player. Advertising availability, content, and delivery are provided through Google and may vary by region, consent state, connectivity, age-treatment rules, inventory, or service status.

You are never required to watch a rewarded ad to continue playing. Daily, Quick, and Custom rounds remain unlimited. Crownspell Plus removes Crownspell's advertising placements while the entitlement is active.

Crownspell Plus

Crownspell Plus is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple. It removes advertising and unlocks Untimed Custom Games, seven-letter trays, 4+ minimum word length, and instant missed-word reveals without a rewarded ad.

Purchases, refunds, Family Sharing, restoration, storefront pricing, taxes, and payment processing are governed by Apple and applicable law. You can use Restore Purchases in Settings when signed in with the Apple Account that obtained the entitlement.

Game Center and notifications

Game Center is optional and governed by Apple's terms. Leaderboards and achievements may be delayed, unavailable, reset, moderated, or changed by Apple or VLR Software. Manipulated or invalid scores may be removed where the service permits.

Daily reminders are optional local notifications. Delivery is not guaranteed and depends on device settings, Focus modes, operating-system behavior, date and time settings, and notification permission.

Availability and changes

We may correct errors, update dictionaries, adjust scoring or game balance, modify supported services, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. We do not guarantee uninterrupted advertising, Game Center, StoreKit, notification, or network availability. Core dictionary gameplay is designed to work offline after installation, subject to device and app integrity.

Intellectual property and third-party notices

Crownspell's original interface, artwork, sound cues, branding, and software are owned by VLR Software LLC or its licensors. Third-party dictionary and software components remain subject to their own licenses. Required notices are available inside Crownspell under Settings → Dictionary credits and license.

Disclaimer and limitation

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crownspell is provided “as is” and “as available.” VLR Software disclaims warranties that are not required by law, including warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free dictionaries, fitness for a particular educational or health purpose, and continuous third-party-service availability.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VLR Software will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of Crownspell. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.

Termination

You may stop using Crownspell at any time. These Terms end if you permanently delete the app, except provisions that by their nature survive. We may restrict access to network-backed features for unlawful use, service abuse, leaderboard manipulation, or material violation of these Terms, subject to applicable law and platform capabilities.

Governing terms

Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless VLR Software publishes a valid custom license agreement through App Store Connect. If these Terms conflict with non-waivable consumer law or Apple's applicable terms, those controlling requirements apply.
